A fast-growing global consumer technology company is looking for a Senior Node.js Backend Developer to join its international engineering team. The organisation builds innovative real-time digital products used daily by millions of users worldwide. The Role
As a Senior Backend Developer, you will take ownership of server-side architecture, backend services, and data infrastructure while working closely with DevOps and product teams to scale systems globally. You'll play a key role in designing performant, secure, and scalable backend solutions supporting real-time user interactions. Their tech stack includes:
- Node.js (Express)
- MongoDB
- Redis
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Kubernetes
- Docker
- GitLab / CI/CD
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain scalable backend services and APIs
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to design new features
- Optimise services for performance, scalability, and reliability
- Implement security and data protection best practices
- Design and manage data storage solutions
- Develop reusable backend components and libraries
- Contribute to testing strategies including unit and E2E testing
Requirements:
- 5+ years' experience as a Backend Developer
- Strong experience building and consuming REST APIs
- Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases
- Proven ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
- Solid understanding of TDD, SOLID principles, and software design practices
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, and CI/CD workflows
- Experience monitoring and optimising system performance
- At least B2 level English language skills
