Technical Support Location: Lincoln, office based (occasional travel to customer sites)

About Autrix

Autrix is a UK-based warehouse automation specialist helping businesses transform how they pick, pack, and move goods. We partner with leading robotics and automation providers to design, install, and support systems that make warehouses faster, safer, and more efficient.

Our customers range from sports retailers and gaming distributors to automotive manufacturers and aviation suppliers. What they share is a need for automation that works, backed by a team that understands their operation and responds when it matters.

Why we're hiring

Demand for our services is growing. More businesses across the UK are investing in robotics and smart warehouse systems, and they're choosing Autrix because we combine genuine technical expertise with hands-on support that doesn't stop at installation.

As our customer base grows, so does our team. We're looking for someone who can help us maintain the high standard of service our customers rely on.

You won't get lost here. You'll be part of a close-knit team where your work has real, visible impact.

About the role

Our customers depend on their automation systems to keep operations running. When something needs attention, they need fast, knowledgeable help from someone who cares about getting them back on track.

As part of our technical team, you'll be a first point of contact for customers and colleagues experiencing technical issues. You'll troubleshoot hardware and software problems, maintain network connectivity, and help ensure our automation solutions perform at their best every day.

If you come from an IT support background and you're looking for a new challenge, this role is a natural fit. The skills translate directly. The environment is just more interesting.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving problems, explaining technical concepts in plain English, and knowing their work makes a real difference to warehouse teams across the UK.

You'll be based at our Lincoln office, with occasional travel to customer sites. As we grow, there will also be opportunities to get involved in international deployments.

What you'll do

  • Respond to technical requests promptly, diagnosing and resolving issues with care and clarity
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and operating system problems (Windows Server, Linux including Ubuntu, Fedora, and RedHat)
  • Support network connectivity, including LAN, VPN, and firewall configurations
  • Perform routine maintenance: system updates, patch management, and hardware diagnostics
  • Configure and manage network devices such as switches, routers, and firewalls
  • Document solutions clearly so the whole team benefits from shared knowledge
  • Communicate with users at all technical levels, translating complex issues into straightforward guidance
  • Collaborate with colleagues to escalate and resolve more complex problems efficiently

What you'll bring

  • Solid understanding of computer networking (LAN, VPN, firewalls, general troubleshooting)
  • Experience supporting Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Confidence troubleshooting software across different platforms
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems such as Jira or similar
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain technical matters to non-technical people
  • Knowledge of hardware components and diagnostic techniques
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities without losing focus on quality
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites when required
  • A proactive, curious mindset with a willingness to learn and find better ways of working
  • Experience with PostgreSQL is a bonus, but not essential

What you'll get

  • Competitive salary
  • Pension
  • Free parking and a taxi home if you're working late
  • Office snacks and refreshments
  • A sociable team (past outings have included go-karting, tank paintball, and games nights)
