About the Role
AP & AR Manager
Salary: up to £50,000
Location: Lowestoft
Full-time | Permanent
We are delighted to be working exclusively with our client to recruit an experienced AP & AR Manager to join their established Finance function in Lowestoft.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced transactional finance professional who enjoys leading teams, improving processes and taking ownership across both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
Reporting into the Regional Head of Finance, you will lead a team across Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Credit Control, Cashiering and invoicing, ensuring the function operates efficiently, accurately and to a high standard.
The Role
You will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and performance of the transactional finance functions, ensuring strong financial controls, accurate processing and effective cash flow management.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions, setting clear objectives and priorities for the team.
- Overseeing credit control and ensuring outstanding debt is collected efficiently.
- Managing customer invoicing, credit notes and supplier payments.
- Overseeing cashiering activities, including the accurate allocation of receipts and payments and timely bank reconciliations.
- Managing supplier account reconciliations and resolving supplier queries and disputes.
- Reviewing aged debtor and creditor reports and ensuring appropriate action is taken.
- Supporting effective working capital management through monitoring collections, payments and supplier commitments.
- Working closely with an international Shared Service Centre to maintain service levels and resolve issues effectively.
- Developing and monitoring KPIs across the transactional finance functions and reporting performance to senior management.
- Driving continuous improvement and automation initiatives to improve efficiency and strengthen financial controls.
- Supporting month-end and year-end close activities, including reconciliations and reporting.
- Supporting internal and external audits and ensuring compliance with internal controls and policies.
- Analysing financial and operational information to support business planning and forecasting.
About You
We're looking for an experienced finance professional with a strong background in transactional finance and proven experience of managing finance teams.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience managing finance staff.
- Strong experience across Accounts Payable and supplier payment processes.
- Experience managing Credit Control and Cashiering functions.
- Experience working within a fast-paced and dynamic finance environment.
- A proven track record of process improvement and automation.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive approach to problem solving, with the confidence to challenge existing processes constructively.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accountability.
- A commercial mindset and understanding of how transactional finance impacts the wider business.
