£51,125 + Autonomy + Technical Training + Days + Bonus (Up To 4%) + Pension

Are you an Automation & Controls Engineer looking to develop your PLC programming skills in a stable, Monday-Friday role? Do you have experience supporting PLC, HMI and SCADA systems on a busy manufacturing site, with the backing to drive improvements?

This is a permanent, site-based position with an established UK manufacturer that invests in its engineering function and supports long-term development. You'll benefit from a strong package and the chance to take ownership of automation improvements without call-outs or shift patterns.

You'll be joining a business that has been established since 1958, is part of a British farmer-owned dairy co-operative, and is known for looking after its people. With structured reviews and a supportive environment, it's a role where you can build genuine long-term career momentum.

On a day-to-day basis you'll maintain and improve the site's automation and controls systems (PLCs, HMIs, SCADA and drives), support complex breakdowns, and contribute to process/plant design and commissioning projects.

This role suits a engineer who is motivated by technical progression and training, taking ownership of improvements, and becoming the go-to automation specialist on site (with longer-term scope to step up as the business develops).

The Role:

• Support and maintain on-site automation & controls systems (PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, frequency drives) in a factory environment
• Assist with complex breakdowns, continuous improvement, and automation-led projects including design/installation/commissioning
• Monday to Friday, 08:00-16:30 (no call-outs)

The Person:

• Siemens and/or Mitsubishi PLC programming experience
• Qualified in an engineering discipline
• Comfortable supporting automation systems on site and communicating clearly within an engineering team
