CAD Technician

Job Title: CAD Technician

Location: Ashford

Salary : £30,000 - £34,000 per annum (dependent on experience + Bonus)

Job Type: Full time/permanent (Hybrid working available after initial training period)

We are looking for a CAD Technician for our Ashford based client, the ideal candidate will have strong CAD skills and experience or interest in working within the construction sector.

Key responsibilities

• Create, update and manage 2D and 3D CAD drawings and technical documentation
• Translate design concepts, sketches and site information into accurate CAD models and drawings
• Coordinate drawing revisions and maintain drawing standards, file naming and version control
• Work with project teams to ensure drawings meet design, constructability and compliance requirements
• Prepare layout plans, detail drawings, schedules and material lists as required
• Assist with clash detection, drawing issue control and handover documentation
• Support on site surveys and incorporate measured data into drawings when needed

Essential skills and experience

• Strong CAD skills with a proven track record producing high quality technical drawings
• Experience using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit or similar) and familiarity with CAD best practices
• Ideally some exposure to the construction sector or building services, civil or structural projects
• Effective communication and the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, designers and site teams
