Data Engineer - Lancashire (Hybrid) - £60K

A leading organisation is looking to appoint a Principal Data Engineer to lead the design, development and evolution of its enterprise data platform.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the organisation's data engineering capability, driving the adoption of modern cloud technologies including Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain enterprise-scale data platforms, pipelines and ETL/ELT solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Services
• Lead the architecture and implementation of modern cloud-based data engineering solutions
• Define data engineering standards, best practices and governance across the organisation
• Develop scalable data models and integration solutions to support business intelligence and analytics
• Ensure data platforms are secure, resilient and aligned with compliance and governance requirements

Skills & Experience

• Commercial experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale data engineering solutions
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services and cloud-based data platforms
• Advanced SQL skills with experience in data modelling, ETL/ELT development and data integration
• Experience designing scalable, secure and high-performing data architectures
• Strong understanding of data governance, security, compliance and best practice
