About the role:

The Data & Insights Apprentice will support the Sector Data and Insights team at Enginuity to unleash the power of sector data by providing actionable data analysis and market intelligence through the development of BI dashboards. Providing support to the Engineering and Manufacturing sector to make informed decisions, stay competitive, lobby for change and achieve strategic objectives.

Focused on the Engineering and Manufacturing sector, this role will be responsible for collecting, analysing, and interpreting data to provide insights on market trends, sector performance, workforce needs, productivity, skills gaps, and emerging opportunities.

Responsibilities:

• Analyse and monitor complex sector data within PowerBI, including but not limited to datasets related to productivity, workforce trends, workforce needs, skills gaps and emerging opportunities and provide new insights using all available data

• Support the Sector Intelligence team to produce ad-hoc data and reports to support the Charity team with BAU activities

• Collaborate with internal teams such as the Sector Engagement, Research, Policy and Products & Services, to understand data needs and deliver tailored insights for business purposes

• Integrate data from multiple sources and ensure data quality, integrity consistency, accuracy and compliance comply with data protection standards

You will need the following skills:

• Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)

• Interest in understanding and interpreting data in new or complex contexts, delivering clear, relevant, and high-impact insights

• Some experience in SQL and PowerBI/Tableau/Qlik or other relevant Business Intelligence tools (desirable)

• Experience of working in a data environment, utilising analytical skills to solve complex data problems (desirable)

• Industry or sector experience and understanding of the engineering and manufacturing landscape (desirable)

Entry requirements:

Standard entry:

• Level 3 qualification (apprenticeship/A-levels/BTEC, etc)

• OR equivalent work experience (typically two years in a relevant role)

Plus:

• 5 GCSEs, including English and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above

• Experience with using Excel (in particular pivot tables and XLookup) and Microsoft products (or similar)

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Working hours: Our standard working hours are 35 per week, 9am until 5pm with a 1-hour lunch. Many of our team work flexibly, and we would be happy to discuss how flexible working could work for you and the business.
