About the Role
Are you a experienced dental nurse looking for an opportunity to take your dental knowledge in a new direction?
Do you enjoy helping people, explaining things clearly and have an interest in computers and technology?
Baker Heath Associates (BHA Software) is looking for a Dental Software Support & Training Specialist to join our team in Blaby.
BHA Software is one of the UK's leading dental software suppliers, providing specialist software to dental practices across the country.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with dental practice experience who would like to move away from a purely clinical role while continuing to use their knowledge and understanding of dentistry.
You will work closely with dental practices, helping them use our software effectively, providing support, delivering training and ensuring they get the most from our products.
Your experience of working in a dental practice will be particularly valuable, as you'll understand the day-to-day pressures, terminology and processes that our customers work with.
What you'll be doing
Your role will include:
- Providing friendly and knowledgeable software support to dental practices by telephone.
- Using your dental knowledge and experience to understand customers' questions and help resolve their issues.
- Building positive relationships with dental practices and their teams.
- Helping new customers through their software onboarding and implementation.
- Delivering online training to dental teams via video calls.
- Explaining software features clearly and demonstrating how they can be used within a dental practice.
- Arranging training sessions and meetings with new and existing clients.
- Creating and maintaining training materials and documentation.
- Recording video training resources for dental practices.
- Testing new software features and providing feedback from a dental practice perspective.
- Writing clear and easy-to-understand guidance for customers.
- Keeping up to date with new software features and developments.
- Identifying opportunities where additional BHA Software products or services may benefit a dental practice.
- Working closely with the wider BHA team to ensure customers receive a high level of support and service.
What we're looking for
We're particularly interested in candidates who have experience working within a dental practice, especially qualified or experienced dental nurses who are looking to develop their career outside of the surgery.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience working as a dental nurse or within a dental practice.
- A good understanding of how a dental practice operates.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build rapport with dentists, dental nurses, practice managers and other members of the dental team.
- Confidence speaking to customers over the telephone and via video calls.
- The ability to explain information clearly and patiently.
- Good computer skills and an interest in technology.
- The ability to learn new software quickly.
- Good problem-solving skills and a logical approach to resolving issues.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- A positive, friendly and professional attitude.
- A willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- A full UK driving licence.
Your dental experience
Your dental practice experience is at the heart of this role.
You may currently be working as a dental nurse and be looking for a change, or perhaps you're looking for a role where you can use your dental knowledge in a different way.
You don't need to be a software expert. Full training will be provided on our software and systems.
What matters most is that you understand dentistry, are comfortable talking to people and have the enthusiasm to learn.
Your experience could include:
- Working as a qualified dental nurse.
- Working within NHS or private dentistry.
- Understanding surgery and reception workflows.
- Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures.
- Experience communicating with dentists, patients and practice managers.
- Experience using dental practice management software.
- An understanding of the importance of accurate patient records and practice administration.
Why make the move from dental nursing?
This role offers an opportunity to take the knowledge and experience you've gained working in a dental practice and use it in a new, office-based career.
Rather than working clinically, you'll be helping dental teams across the UK by sharing your knowledge, supporting them with their software and helping practices work more efficiently.
It's ideal for someone who enjoys dentistry but is looking for:
- A Monday–Friday office-based role.
- A change from clinical nursing.
- Less hands-on clinical work.
- The opportunity to develop new technical and communication skills.
- A role with regular interaction with dental professionals.
- The opportunity to build a long-term career within the dental technology sector.
What we offer
- £26,000–£30,000 salary, depending on experience.
- Full-time, Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm.
- 1-hour lunch break.
- 20 days' annual leave plus bank holidays.
- Free onsite or nearby parking.
- Full training on our software and systems.
- A supportive team environment.
- A varied role with plenty of interaction with dental professionals.
- The opportunity to develop specialist knowledge within the dental technology industry.
- The opportunity to progress your career beyond traditional dental nursing.
Interested?
If you're an experienced dental nurse who enjoys helping people, explaining things and has an interest in computers and technology, we'd love to hear from you.
You don't need to be a software expert. We can teach you the software – your dental knowledge and experience are what we're really interested in.
If you're ready to take the next step in your career and use your dental experience in a completely different way, apply now to join the BHA Software team in Blaby.
Good with people. Good with dentistry. Good at explaining things.
We'd love to hear from you.
