About the Role

EMS Installation Electrician

Competitive salary - £40,000 - £45,000 (DoE)

Gateshead / Remote | Full-time | Field-based within the UK and occasional European and Dubai based travel.

This role will include a company van and overnight allowance when working away - Overnight Allowance of £50 per day (after tax).

When a business needs to understand exactly where its energy is going, someone has to get on site, install the monitoring hardware, wire it in safely, and make sure the data flows. That someone is you.

As an EMS Installation Electrician with ClearVUE, you’ll work alongside the Services team to install and maintain Energy Management Systems across commercial and industrial sites in the UK and abroad. You’ll survey sites, plan safe installations, complete the full electrical and networking setup, commission the system, and handle fault-finding when things need attention. You’ll report to the Electrical Manager.

If you’re a qualified electrician who enjoys hands-on, varied work across different sites — and you want to apply your skills to energy technology rather than just traditional electrical installations — this is a role worth looking at.

What you’ll actually be doing

· Surveying commercial and industrial sites prior to installation — assessing electrical infrastructure, identifying safe installation methods, and producing materials and stock lists

· Conducting full end-to-end EMS installations: electrical wiring, networking the system for internet connectivity, and commissioning to ensure the platform is live and reporting data correctly

· Fault-finding and maintaining existing Energy Management Systems — diagnosing electrical and connectivity issues, replacing components, and restoring full functionality

· Completing all associated administrative work — installation reports, test certificates, and documentation to the standard required

· Ensuring every installation complies with company operating policies, procedures, and relevant electrical regulations

· Working closely with the Health & Safety Advisor to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and safe working practices for both client sites and yourself

· Travelling to client sites across the UK, with occasional international travel as required

No two weeks look the same. One week you might be surveying a manufacturing facility in the Midlands, planning the cable routes and CT positions. The next, you’re on site completing a full installation — pulling cables, wiring CTs, configuring the network gateway, and commissioning the system before handing over to the client. Between jobs, there’s maintenance and fault-finding work to keep existing installations running. The variety is constant and the work is practical, technical, and visible.

What makes this rewarding

· Energy technology, not just wiring. You’re not pulling cables on a building site — you’re installing smart energy monitoring systems that give businesses real-time visibility of their consumption. Every system you commission has a direct impact on how a client manages its energy and costs

· Variety and autonomy. Different sites, different challenges, and the independence to survey, plan, and deliver installations on your own. You’ll manage your own schedule and take ownership of each job from survey to handover

· A growing market. Energy management is one of the fastest-growing areas in the commercial energy sector. ClearVUE’s client base is expanding across the UK and internationally, which means more sites, more installations, and more opportunity for you

· Develop your skill set. You’ll build expertise in IoT, networking, and energy monitoring technology alongside your core electrical skills. It’s a genuine specialism that sets you apart from a standard commercial electrician

What’s in it for you

· Competitive salary dependent on experience

· Premier Inn Card, CEF Card & Fuel Card

· Additional Overtime Pay - rates of 1 1/3, 1.5 and 2 x depending on hours/days.

· Company vehicle and tools provided

· 23 days holiday + bank holidays

· Month of December off (Fully Paid) * with any days worked being additionally paid at full day rate.

· Pension and access to Simply health (money towards dental care, eyesight checks, physio, etc.)

This is for you, if

· You are a fully qualified electrician with experience in industrial and commercial installations

· In date Gold Card & 18th Edition City and Guilds Qualified (Level 3)

· You hold a full UK driving licence

· Complete a DBS Check

· You have a good level of IT knowledge — energy management systems connect to the internet, so you need to be comfortable with networking, IP configuration, and basic troubleshooting beyond the electrical side

· You’re confident working independently on client sites, managing your own schedule, and knowing when to access support or escalate

· You’re happy to travel regularly across the UK, with occasional international travel

· You have the right to work in the UK (documentation required at interview)

· Experience with energy monitoring, IoT, or building management systems is a plus but not essential — a strong electrical foundation and willingness to learn the technology is what matters
