IT Infrastructure Administrator

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking an IT Infrastructure Administrator to work for our client within the Financial Services sector. This is an initial 6 month contract opportunity with strong potential for extension and will be a hybrid role based in Cheshire.

Our client is seeking a highly skilled IT Infrastructure Administrator to join their End User Computing (EUC) team. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining EUC infrastructure, ensuring systems remain fully operational whilst providing critical support to end users. The role offers the opportunity to work on both the implementation of new technologies and the enhancement of existing platforms that underpin the employee experience.

Responsibilities:

• Provide prompt and effective 3rd line support for End User Computing technologies.
• Design and implement new EUC technologies, working closely with Project Managers and Architecture teams.
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert across the EUC estate, identifying opportunities for technology and process improvements.
• Support and mentor 2nd Line Support and Service Desk teams to enhance their EUC knowledge and capabilities.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to deliver and maintain end-user technology solutions.

• Experience administering Windows end-user systems within an enterprise-scale environment.
• Previous experience providing 2nd and 3rd line IT support.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) for application deployment and patch management.
• Experience with Microsoft Intune and Group Policy Management.
• Experience supporting the Microsoft 365 suite of applications.
• Knowledge of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), ideally using Omnissa Horizon.
• Exposure to automation and scripting using PowerShell would be advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to participate in occasional out-of-hours support and on-call rotas.
