Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Hours/Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off rotating days and nights (7:00am to 7:00pm / 7:00pm to 7:00am)

Salary: £31,115 per annum plus overtime paid at 1.5x hourly rate

About the role:

We are currently recruiting for a Security Officer to join our team at Market Drayton.

This is much more than a traditional security role. As the first point of contact for visitors, contractors and colleagues, you'll play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment across site. Customer service is a fundamental part of the role, and we're looking for someone who can communicate confidently, remain calm under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced operational environment.

Previous security experience is not essential as full training will be provided. We're looking for someone with excellent communication skills, a professional approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering outstanding customer service. The role can be demanding, particularly during busy periods, so resilience, teamwork and the ability to work under pressure are essential.

What you'll be doing:

• Handling calls to site, resolving queries or directing them to the appropriate department.
• Operating gatehouse systems, barriers and turnstiles.
• Managing visitor, contractor and employee access to site.
• Carrying out weighbridge transactions for inbound and outbound movements.
• Completing site lock-up, unlock and patrol procedures.
• Monitoring and operating CCTV systems in line with company procedures.
• Issuing access cards, temporary passes and site keys.
• Briefing visitors and contractors on site rules and health & safety requirements.
• Maintaining accurate handovers, security records, logbooks and spreadsheets.
• Supporting emergency response procedures, including evacuations and site incidents.
• Supporting compliance activities and security-related audits.
• Working closely with colleagues as part of a two-person shift team to ensure continuous site coverage.

Essential

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and spreadsheet use.
• Ability to multitask and prioritise workload effectively.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage difficult situations professionally.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate records.
• Confidence to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
• A positive team-player who is willing to support colleagues and provide cover when required.
• Ability to commute reliably to Market Drayton.

Desirable

• Previous experience in a security, gatehouse, reception or customer service environment.
• Experience working within manufacturing, logistics or operational environments.
• Knowledge of CCTV or access control systems.
