THE ROLE

As a Senior AI Engineer you will join a high-impact AI team focused on developing and deploying advanced generative AI solutions.

Specifically, you can expect to be involved in the following:

• Building and deploying LLM-powered applications from prototype through to production
• Fine-tuning large language models for specific use cases and content requirements
• Designing, curating, and managing datasets for model training and evaluation
• Developing and optimising Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines
• Creating evaluation frameworks and quality metrics for AI model performance
• Implementing human-in-the-loop feedback systems to improve outputs
• Supporting AI-driven features such as summarisation, personalisation, and real-time content generation
• Exploring speech and audio technologies, including text-to-speech solutions
• Collaborating closely with product, engineering, and design teams to deliver innovative AI experiences
• Contributing to experiments involving multimodal AI across text, image, and audio

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

The successful Senior AI Engineer will have the following skills and experience:

• Strong commercial experience building LLM or NLP-based systems
• Hands-on experience with platforms such as OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Cohere, Mistral, or Hugging Face
• Expertise in fine-tuning techniques, including supervised fine-tuning and prompt optimisation
• Strong understanding of RLHF, RLAIF, and preference modelling approaches
• Advanced Python development skills
• Experience with tools and frameworks such as LangChain and Hugging Face Transformers
• Familiarity with data tooling including Pandas, DVC, and Weights & Biases
• Experience evaluating model performance using both quantitative and qualitative metrics
• Knowledge of speech technologies, including speech-to-text and text-to-speech solutions
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, experimental environment

• Salary between £90,000 - £120,000 - depending on experience
