Business Development Manager

Bracknell (3 days in the office per week) - Base salary £35,000 to £40,000 - Sales Commission - 15% of all generated business

A bit about the Role....

We are looking for an ambitious and driven Business Development Manager to join a growing software and technology business working with, and reporting into one of the best in the game allowing you to learn and excel. This role is focused on identifying and developing new business opportunities, engaging with prospective customers, and generating high-quality sales opportunities for the wider sales team.

You will work closely with sales, marketing, and channel partners to build relationships with key decision-makers, qualify opportunities, and help drive business growth. You'll be given the tools needed to identify and contact relevant buying managers. 

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys prospecting, building relationships, and developing a career within a fast-paced technology environment.

Day to day you can expect to be....

  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities through proactive outbound prospecting activities.
  • Engage with prospective customers via telephone, email, and other communication channels to generate qualified sales opportunities.
  • Follow up on marketing campaigns, inbound enquiries, referrals, and partner-generated leads.
  • Research target organisations to identify key stakeholders, decision-makers, and business needs.
  • Qualify opportunities through effective questioning and consultative conversations.
  • Build and nurture a pipeline of prospective clients and maintain regular engagement throughout the sales cycle.
  • Support account growth within existing customer relationships where appropriate.
  • Collaborate closely with internal sales teams, providing accurate handovers and regular updates on opportunities.
  • Prepare and distribute relevant product information, proposals, quotations, and follow-up communications.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies.
  • Ensure a professional and positive customer experience, resolving queries and concerns effectively.
  • Consistently achieve individual performance targets relating to lead generation, pipeline development, and revenue contribution.

A little bit about you....

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in sales, business development, lead generation, or telesales.
  • Confidence engaging senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Strong prospecting and cold-calling skills.
  • Ability to quickly understand and communicate technology-based solutions and business benefits.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach and a strong desire to achieve results.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
  • Skilled in asking effective questions and actively listening to uncover customer needs.
  • Resilient, persistent, and comfortable working towards targets in a sales environment.
  • Experience within the software, SaaS, or technology sector would be advantages but NOT a must.
