About the Role

QA Technician
Chelmsford, Essex
Monday to Friday | 3:00pm - 12:00am

Are you looking to build your career within Quality Assurance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment?

We're partnering with a successful and growing manufacturer seeking a QA Technician to join their Quality team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous manufacturing or quality experience who enjoys working in a hands-on environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards.
You'll play a key role in ensuring products meet quality, safety and compliance requirements, supporting production teams and helping maintain robust quality systems across the site.

The Role
As a QA Technician, you'll support the technical and quality functions of the business through a range of quality checks, audits and compliance activities. Working closely with Production, Hygiene and Technical teams, you'll help ensure products are manufactured safely and to the required standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Complete daily quality and documentation checks
  • Carry out GMP, hygiene and housekeeping audits across the site
  • Perform equipment verification, including metal detectors, scales and checkweighers
  • Monitor and record temperature checks and other critical control measures
  • Conduct allergen and hygiene swabbing activities
  • Support product release processes and compliance checks
  • Collect production samples and maintain accurate records
  • Assist with investigations, technical queries and corrective actions
  • Support internal, customer and supplier audits
  • Help prepare for external inspections and compliance reviews
  • Provide cover and support for the wider Quality team when required
About You
We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Requirements
  • Previous experience within a production / manufacturing environment, ideally in a Quality, QA, QC role
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with different teams
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
Desirable
  • Experience using SAP or a similar ERP system
  • Knowledge of food safety, allergen management and GMP standards
  • Experience supporting audits and compliance activities
